Happy Mother’s Day!!!

My Inspiration (Brother Felix Y. Manalo)

Today would be Bro. Felix Y. Manalo’s 126th birthday.

He’s one of my inspirations in life. He gave up everything to preach the gospel to the people. He believed in God’s promise in Isaiah 41:10-13. Even though many people were against him and tried to bring him down, he always overcame them and emerged triumphant. He’s proof that if you truly trust God and put your life in God’s hands, God will always guide, help and protect you.

This is what helped me make my decision to attend college in the Philippines. When I decided to go to college in the Philippines, everyone was saying that I wouldn’t have “modern conveniences” and it’s dangerous in the Philippines and life will be tough and I wouldn’t be able to make it there. Some of what they said was true like not having certain conveniences anymore, but others things they said I didn’t care for. My thoughts were “Look at Bro. Felix… He left everything to fulfill God’s work because he believed that God will take care of him. If he can do all of that for gospel, then I can do it for college. I know that God will take care of me. I just have to have faith in God’s Promise. I can do it.”
And months later, I’m still alive and going strong in my studies in the Philippines. Of course there were times when I struggled, but when I prayed to God for help he would help me. He would protect me from the dangers that surrounded me. He would comfort me when I felt alone. He would shield and help me defeat my enemies. I kept my faith in God promise and sure enough it came true.

God will never fail his people as long as we have faith and trust him. He never failed his Last Messenger because the Messenger knew that God will always be with him. Bro. Felix put his hope and faith in God’s hands until the end. This is what truly inspires me.
